Mosquitoes

Mosquitoes are Michigan’s most annoying pests during the spring, summer and even fall months. Not only are they pesky, they’re actually the most dangerous animals on the planet. They carry many different deadly diseases to humans and animals alike, easily passing them on from person to person.

They are very small insects with the typical body including a head, thorax and abdomen. Female mosquitoes are the only ones that bite or seek blood, as they need the protein to lay their eggs. She flies around and can smell blood from up to 80 feet away. Mosquitoes are attracted to the CO2 we emit, as well as our breath and sweat. Their saliva is an allergen, hence the itchy bumps that the bites leave behind. Male mosquitoes do not crave blood, nor will they bite humans or animals. They are pollinators, looking for nectar wherever they can. When a female is not producing eggs, she will also eat nectar.

Mosquitoes prefer warm, moist environments. They only need a small amount of water to breed, so keeping your home or business free of any standing water is key. They are extremely active after a spell of rain, and are happy to feast on any humans or animals in their wake. They are not particularly fond of dry heat or the cold. If you choose to be active outside, wearing protective bug spray is key, as well as having a mosquito insecticide sprayed on your property.

If you’re in need of mosquitoes to be taken care of before an event, in your yard or just frequent maintenance, give Solidified Pest Control a call today! We spray the bugs away, keeping your family, guests and pets safe.

They responded within less than an hour of my leaving a voicemail. Then, they were at our house within 4 hours. They assessed the situation, inspected, and took steps to take care of the problem. He also provided us with some suggestions as to keep from having issues in the future.

It went great. No more wasps after 48 hrs. And it took only 15 minutes to apply the treatment. The man that came (I forgot his name but I believe it's a small family business) was very serious and knowledgeable. Also he was the first one to respond and be able to show up after I contacted 4 or 5 different pest exterminators.
